I'm going snowboarding next year in canada, and need a jacket to put up with the cold. any ideas?

i've only ever snowboarded in europe and heard it can get down to -30. I want i
a) keep my warm
b) look cool
obviously b is more important than a.
cheers.

When its that cold you want to pay special attention to waterproofing/breathability ratings. The higher the waterproofing rating, the better the garment resists moisture penetrating through outer membrane. Breathabilty is similar, but a higher rating corresponds to how much moisture (sweat) is allowed to escape out through the membrane. A high breathability rating can also allow cold air into the jacket so you may not to get too crazy on that end. SECTION OUTERWEAR is using a next-generation gore called diaplex, its a true smart fabric. It starts out as 20k mm waterproof and 15k mm breathable (typical high-end tech specs). But, when the temp reaches 15 degrees f the properties of the fabric changes to 40k mm waterproof and 8k mm breathable to keep you warmer and drier in the more demanding conditions. Then when the temp rises above 15f the fabric switches back so you don't overheat. DIAPLEX is the BOMB ...and it comes in different fabric treatments (cordouroy, canvas feal, etc.) www.sectionouterwear.com Source(s): I luv to "jacket".
try REI.com
get a ski suit they are nice and warm and they have all kinds of different colors and such thats what i wear when i go snowboarding. try a google search for ski suits and see what you come up with, happy hunting!!
it depends on what month of winter you are coming to Canada. it can range from sunny and mild to a full blown snow storm which are becoming few and far between. you should get a coat that has a detachable hood and lining.,wear gloves and bring your sunglasses or snowgoggles. it also depends on where in Canada you are going snowboarding., BC or Quebec?you can always check the weather on the internet.
burton.com all their stuff is mad high quality thats why the prose use that brand.
There are loads of good makes of snowboarding jackets around although some of them are a bit overpriced but they will all keep you warm and dry. Brands to look out for are Bonfire, Westbeach, Helly Hansen, Quiksilver, Burton, Foursquare, Analog, Special Blend etc.
