Skiing or snowboarding, which is the one you prefer? |
Skiing or snowboarding, which is the one you prefer? I prefer Skiing just because its much easier to maneuver than a snowboard which takes time and practice to shift your body with ur legs strap to one piece of board. Unlike snowboarding, skiing doesn't have limitations to the variety of competition/courses one might try. Things like: ski jumping, cross country skiing, and the classic left to right alpine sking. Now have you heard of snowboard jumping or alpine boarding? didn't think so. Don't give me wrong, In retrospect, I like watching people snowboard do tricks and such. And thats how its presented and advertised to: Young adults who are "cool" and that say things like "Duude" and "righteous man". Statistically around the world, a lot more people are skiing than are snowboarding. When it comes down to originality and cold weathered activities; Skiing my prefered one. snowboarding snowboarding I hear is pretty fun! So I'd have to say that. I grew up in Utah I started skiing when I was 5. so I would have to say I enjoy skiing more. I have snowboarded and had a really good time doing it. I just felt more freedom and a better rush when I had the skis on. if you are a newie to both sports try them both out and go with the one you like best. skiing because of peast is far better in skis than a board bacause boards can get stook in the powder also with a board there is the constant strappign and unstrapping of bindings to get on chair lifts by the way i know this is long, but try to read the entire thing. I personally hope you become a skier Ok why are you asking this question, it is skiing because of an infinite number of reasons. Here are some: Apparently you are a beginner, because you dont know what to choose, and skis are much easier to handle, turn with, and it is much harder to fall when using skis. Which means that less time will be spent on the wet snow, which makes it more comfortable, and therefore more enjoyable. Despite lots of propaganda from burton and other big snowboarding companies, skiing is still cool. According to Ski Magazine, snowboarding has decreased over 10% over the last 15 years wheras skiing has had an increase. Although were not quite there yet, skiing will become more popular than snowboarding, and when it gets there, you will already be on the bandwagon. Many people go with the stereotype of skiing is for speed and boarding is for air. THis was true up until about 5 years ago. With the new invention of twin tipped skis, the freestyle revolution for skiing has begun, and it has become extraordinarily popular both in the us and around the world. Yet if you prefer speed, skiing has still got it. You can carve out turns and rip it up 15 times better on skis than on a snowboard. Please, dont turn to the dark side, stick to skiing.
