Is there a PGA statistic on highest 'birdie after bogie'rate? |
I noticed Tiger responded to a bogie today with an immediate birdie. Nice to see he got 'ticked.' Yes its called the bounce-back statistic: http://www.thegolfchannel.com/13201/30/... idk but thats a very good statistic if you want to know how well someone recovers Yeah, it's called "bounce back" Here are the stats: http://www.thegolfchannel.com/core.aspx?... k First, the correct spelling is b-o-g-e-y. It's not the nickname for Humphrey Bogart, who was often referred to using your version. Second, I just wanted to clarify that "bounce back" refers to ANY score (i.e. birdie, eagle, albatross, condor) under par immediately following a bogey OR WORSE. In short, a bounce back is when a golfer is over par on one hole and under par on the very next hole. By the way, I'm guessing you don't watch much Tiger. He is widely known to have one of the foulest mouths on tour. He's a perfectionist. It doesn't take much for him to get, as you say, "ticked." Productions crews know this so we see less of his anger but devoted viewers like me have seen and heard him vent. But attend an event some day and you'll understand. That is, if his game if off that day. Oh, and if you ever hear him refer to "Woody," that's the nickname he calls himself but he only breaks it out when he's disappointed with something he's just done or didn't do. |
