How does everyone recover from a bad game? |
i was tired as heck but still played...but i played the worst in my life. he forgot to keep scoring but i think i did really bad. i lost 4 golf balls on one hole because i was so frustrated. how does everyone come back from these games? after i have a bad round, i go to my backyard and chip for about an hr. it calms me down and i can work on my short game, thats wat i always mess up on. and the next time that i go golfing, i focus on the things that i did good on in my backyard ro the last time that i went out to play. another thing that you can do is play from shot to shot. dont think about your last shot, just your next shot. your entire round could change w/ 1 swing of your club y worry about what you alrady did, focus on wat you HAVE to do. Just play again. It's golf...not life or death. If you played the worst game of your life, you can only go up from here...Right? It happens to everyone......don't sweat it. Have a cold one after your round and once the clock strikes midnight, a new day has started. I generally throw a club into the water at the last hole. Ahhhh what a stress relief! This has been an issue for myself as well. I found that frequently the enjoyment and play of my round was decided by my tee off on the 1st hole. This is a common problem even among pros. But not being a pro my problem is compounded and if I duck hook my 1st shot and allow it to get to me mentally, my round goes to hell. However, golf is not cheap to play and if your serious about scoring, then you need to be prepared(not tired) to go in and play focused. Otherwise your wasting your money and your time. Like others have said...when you wake to a new day, its a NEW round. Just have fun and enjoy NOT being at work right :o) It wasn't your day... simple as that. Try again next time. Tiger shot +3... missed a couple of two footers and hit a fan with his drive on 18... in his own tournament... not his day, he'll try again tomorrow. Or you can try... Beer This isn't meant as an insult...but you're not a good enough player to get mad. If you were a 2 handicap, played and practiced everyday, and had a round like you did today, then you could justify getting mad. I would guess this isn't the case. Someone told me this when I was a high handicapper and it made a lot of sense to me. |
