Am i really cheating? |
i golfed single this morning and was paired with 3 guys. They played a skins and lowest overall score for 10 bucks each. I shot an 85 ( which is really good for me i am generally a mid 90's girl. Well when we were over they all wouldn't pay up cause i played from the red tees........they said i cheated. I dont know them and the money doesn't matter Is it wrong to play from the red tees when im a girl??? Or did their masculinity get hurt. That's a load of BS. They needed to pay up! You basically gelded them by beating them. If they wanted to pay up because you played from the reds then they should have mentioned that before the round started. What a bunch of a-holes! Golf is about honor and honesty, not pride. Now, if you were hitting 280 - 290 yards drives, I think I would've mentioned something after the first time you knocked one past me by 50 yards and called off the bet or made you hit from the whites or blues. Oviously their pride got the better of them. The sad thing is that next time you see them they'll probobaly want you on their scramble team... Edit: I agree with the other answers that you should call them out in front of their other buddies if you see them in the clubhouse. Peer pressure and constant ribbing from the guys will make them pay up or shut them up. Mike you need to get flagged!! Your comment was totally inappropriate! LOL, good one,ha ha , ya , you jacked em up good:) Not at all! They can hit farther! It just evens things up. They are sore losers! By the way, 85 is pretty good for an amateur! Well you won more than you would have if they had paid off. You played where you were supposed to, apparently theydid not object thus they had no recourse. They simply bombed out to their discredit. They couldnt stand that you beat them so not to pay gave them a little comfort. Ask and be sure next time but feel good about what you did. No, that would be the pretty simple answer to this. I place bets all the time with friends, on just about anything you can think of. (with in reason of course) We set down the ground rules for our bets before hand. Winner takes all. If your friends did not do this, and you win then it is on them. Hell if you think about it, everyone could have just droped the ball in from a few inches away if they wanted to. If no one took the time to set the ground rules for what you all did, and you win then hell winning is winning. Unless you can hit it almost as long as a guy it's ok for you to play from the ladies tee in a money match. It also depends on the course yardage between the ladies and whatever tee they played. Usually the bets and game are agreed on, or before the first tee and can't be changed. I think the guys were just jealous and too full of pride to admit defeat ;-) They are just sore losers, you're not cheating |
