Why do Pittsburgh fans hate Jagr now? |
Ok, I missed about 7 years of hockey. I was a diehard Rangers fan back in the days of Richter, Vanbiesbrouck, Gartner, Kovalev, Graves, Nemchinov, Messier, Leetch, etc... I got back into hockey last year and discovered the Rangers had Jagr. I've noticed every time the Rangers play in Pittsburgh, Jagr gets booed every time he touches the puck. So I'm trying to figure out, aside from not playing in Pittsburgh anymore, what specifically happened to make these fans resent him so much? Also, what is the "Kovalev thing"? On a side note, I'm glad the Penguins are staying in Pittsburgh. GO RANGERS!!!!!! "Captain Quitter" quit on the Pens so many times over the years...especially in tough situations where your captain is supposed to lead by example. He always put himself before the team...I remember watching a game where he was frustrated by not scoring and refused to go out on the powerplay late in a close game. He has always led the league in "important game sudden groin injuries". He wanted out of Pittsburgh and Mario's shadow, so he cried to Czech reporters that he was"Dying Alive" in Pittsburgh. And finally, he had the lack of class to badmouth Pittsburgh when he was given what he wanted and moved to another team. Apparently he hasn't changed a bit as he's gotten older. This year he repeatedly refused to take part in shootouts, and he had a disagreement with Aaron Ward right before the deadline forcing the Rangers to move Ward even though they had some injuries on D at the time. He was available at the deadline and don't be surprised if he wears a new jersey next season and gets booed at MSG. Oh, and hurricanesforever12...the best thing that ever happened to the Pens. LMAO...not even close. We had this guy named Mario for awhile that wore #66...perhaps you've heard of him? the same reason red wings fans boo federov. he left the team. He left them for the Capitals, and now he plays for the Rangers. Every team/team's fans hates former players who were the best thing that ever happened to them. Nobody cares about JAGR in Pittsburgh....GO PENS!!!!!!!! He took the big money washington gave him. Blew it with the Caps. Went on to better time with NYR. It's not just that he left the team. It's that he bad-mouthed Pittsburgh and the Penguins when he left - you know...the team that helped him to win 2 Stanley Cups. Everyone boos him because he once expressed his desire to leave the team to an interviewer by saying that he was "dying in a Penguins jersey". He used to be my favorite player for many years, I have his jersey, and other memorabilia - but after that comment and publically dissing the team like that, it really made him an instant villan. Let's Go Pens!!! every real hockey fan hates that suck - he is a jerk - hope he helps out your team but i never liked his attitude despite his immense talent |
