Anyone know what the difference is between butterfly goalie pads and stand-up goalie pads? |
Anyone know what the difference is between butterfly goalie pads and stand-up goalie pads? the difference is that butterfly pads rotate when you go down to form a 90 degree angle with the ice forming a wall, stand up style pads are worn snug and do not move when you go down butterlfly goaliie pads have more protection for the knees because youare down onthem more well garygold your right..the buterfly have more padding...and they are moch more flexible...standups are a lil softer and pretty stiff..it all depends on what type of golie you are...i would prefer butterfly....but its your descicion and your playing sstyle 10 years of hockey (3 years golie) its not the pads, they're 2 different styles of goaltending ok, you both are right but they have extra thigh protection and are designed for a butterfly goaltender. I really prefer these... |
