What a brilliant tactical ride, reminded me of Willie Carson years ago at Ascot. Why didn't the other connections follow the same plan and what was the point of Authorized's pacemaker going off like Carl Lewis? I missed the race as I was in a car accident on the way to the course - grumble grumble, but I'm ok! From what I hear Champery went off at a reasonable pace but it was the Ballydoyle runners who went to the front of the remaining group and then slowed the pace down, thus making Champery's role useless. We may need to thank Johnny Francome as apparently he walked the course with Ryan Moore after Sir Michael got stuck in traffic - hmm, hope that wasn't my fault! Just look at the other questions... who tipped the winner... thanks guys!!! 7-1 Notnowcato.....Would still have won even if they had all come over!!!! Brilliant gamble that paid off, he's a very smart rider (he had a triple that day at sandown). Don't know what Frankie D was doing, he really screwed up his race, and the fantastic George was blocked in by two of his own stable mates, shoulda won it! |
