Graf Skates?? please help!?

hey im looking for a pair of new skates, i have previously used risport but my feet have become too wide for their boots. i am thinking about investing in a pair of Graf Edmonton Special or possibly Graf Richmond Special. i am jumping the doubles at the moment. does anybody have anything to say about either of these skates!? im really confused :S

thankyou!!

The decision between the Richmond or the Edmonton depends on your weight and jumps. As a very general rule, skaters who are lighter weight working on axel and doubles would wear the Richmond. If you are over 100 lbs and are really pounding the doubles, then I would put you in the Edmonton. If you are a teenager, I would go with the Edmontons. Graf boots are known for being lighter weight and are heat moldable.

As far as problems with Grafs, the soles of their boots are not always level so you do need an expert to mount your blades. Other issues may include size availability.

Be sure you are measured for Grafs as their sizing is different than all other brands. Get measured in person if you can. Source(s): I fit figure skates at a pro shop. I help skaters select skates based on their body type, age, level, foot shape, how often they skate, coach recommendation, and what they've previously skated in.
Ask around to the other people using those skates.. see if they have fixed the problem with the heels.. They were breaking off.. **which.. might not be a hard fix.. if you know a good shoe smith.. **

The heels tend to be a little narrower then other brands.. Mounting these boots can be a bit tricky.. visually they can be deceptive to the layman.. so make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing put your blades on..
** Being in a pro shop doesn't make them experts.. ask around.. 8- ) **

Oh.. Pro Shop people.. The first answer to your question.. Great Stuff!!!

Good Luck!! I Love New Boots! 8- )
I would talk to your coach, and see what they suggest for skates, and ask around to other skaters to see what their experiences are with that brand and type of skate. I think that they could be decent skates, but my experiences with Graf have not been so good so I would recommend another brand, but I do know people who like the Graf brand. If your feet are too wide you may consider a pair of custom boots. Depending on where you live you Graf skates also may be more expensive, but getting the right skates is more important than the price (most of the time at least lol). I've found that some of your best resources are your coaches and other skates, I would talk to them and get their advice. Good luck!
