Who was the Sensei of Chuck Norris in Korea?

During his military time in Korea he joined Tang So Do. Does anyone know who is Sensei was it does not say on his website or other sites, only that he started in Korea while in the military.

I KNOW IT WAS NOT BRUCE LEE so please do not state that thank you.

I do not know his Senseis name but i will try to find out. MY Sensei knows him and Aaron Banks and I am sure i can find out. I will post more tomorrow when I find out,

i did learn this for you in case you did not know.

After joining Air Force, Chuck was sent to Korea, where he encountered local Tong Son Do (later known as karate) for the first time in his life and began training. During 3 years in Korea, he started to be called "Chuck". Source(s): Sensei and MA 31+ years
Not sure but he studied Tang Soo Do which is Korean for China Hand, or Fist Way.

another protege of Kung Fu in action that is and was a ring champion undisputed.
Funny how so many call his style Korean, but the koreans call it Chinese Fist Way similar to Kempo, just taught in Korea under a Korean name.

Kung Fu has so many roots everywhere that to discount it makes you have no knowledge of history.
This goes way back man, but I do still remember it. I've been doing martial arts for over 30 years, and my father was an Army Ranger in Korea during the conflict. Originally, Chuck Norris studied Judo at an Air Force base in Korea. Two weeks into this he broke his shoulder from a bad fall. Anyway, he saw the Koreans doing another style of martial art. He found out it was Tang Soo Do, and he met the instructor whose name was Jae Chul Shin. Jae Chul Shin took him as a student. Jae Chul Shin later became the Grandmaster of the World Tang Soo Do Association, and the driving force of growth of Tang Soo Do in the USA.
I'll take the above answers at face value, but I want to point out that Tang Soo Do is the Korean pronunciation for Karatedo. (Kara-Chinese or "Tang" hand <like Tang dynasty>, Te-hand-soo Do-way) The Koreans learned Shotokan Karatedo before WWII when the Japanese military controled Korea. After WWII the Japanese left, leaving Karatedo blackbelts with a style to teach, but a short lived cultural dislike for their one-time oppressors (the Japanese). So, they changed the name into Korean, some split apart to form Taekwondo off the same techniques. Many of the kata were kept the same, though some were changed to allow for higher kicking.
So, when Chuck Norris calls his style Karate, he is correct. However, the more recent changes to Tang Soo Do and Taekwondo since WWII make it so those who study it now are not studying Karate, and should not use the word. With many traditional Karate Kata dropped, these styles are their own now.
shotokan is way better than tang soo do or tae kwon do. Why do you care what chuck norris did? He is so fake, and I've heard he's a womanizer.
