Ideal Fighting Weight?

What's an ideal fighting weight? I'm 6'2" with 82" reach and I want to be able to make use of that, but don't want so much muscle mass that it slows me down. Any ideas?

At 6'2", in the average event, 205 is a great fighting weight. I imagine with such a long reach, though, you could go up to the next weight class and do great at 225 or so. I have always fought in the latter, with a 78 inch reach. Did good in kickboxing and would hope to do well in MMA after this injury heals.

Personally, the lowest class you can fight in without losing too much muscle mass is the best to go with, maximizing both reach and height advantages. If you were still strong at 185, I'd even try that division once or twice. That weight is also good for the sheer fact that there are so many fighters in that class, you'll never have to worry about a lack of competition, like I do at 225. Not enough in that weight class, so alot of fights are with newer fighters as opposed to good guys with some experience. What matters is where you feel most comfortable. 320 pounds, once ya get over 300 lbs it intimidates opponents
im thinking that u should just slim down to like whatever is your natural weight and stick to the lower weight classes your tall and your reach will come in handy
idk
i say about 180-220, good weight to be a bit heavy but still good enough to move fast and with conditioning you'll be able to dodge and move much easier
6'2" with a 82 inch reach.

So do your arms hang down to your knees or what?

I'm 6'2" and have a 75 inch. And i'm lanky as hell.

It all depends on your frame.

but after reading some of your other question like the "fast 40" and 41inch vertical, makes me wonder if your telling the truth here.
