Is this italian or latin? |
i sang this song for a recital....? caro mio ben credimi almen senza di te languice il cor caro mio ben senza di te languice il cor il tuo fedel sospiragnor cesa crudel tanto rigor cesa crudel tanto rigor tanto rigor caro mio ben credimi almen senza di te languice il cor caro mio ben credimi almen senza di te languice il cor 1. It's definitely Italian 2. it's not a dialect, but a bit outmoded Italian (a bit!!!! I'm talking about XIX-early XX cent.!): it's very usual in Opera and in "Romanze". It has some features very usual in poetry: unusual word order in the phrase; words "cut" for metrical reason: rigor(e), ben(e), crudel(e) 3. you have made some errors in writing: not "languice", but "languisce" (approx. pron.: lahn-gooEE- sheh) ; not "cesa", but cessa DANAGASTA, did Shakespeare write in dialect? Source(s): I'm a native italian speaker. I have studied Latin (5 years course) in High School Looks Italian, but why would you ask this ? in football?? that's italian. to the girl below: it's still italian, it just happens to have the certain dialect. This is not all the actual Italian ,some of the words are Napoletano which is a dialect used in Naples where Giuseppe Giordani the composer was born. e italiano it is italian. Ciao, buona fortuna!. |
