MLS Stadium Question? |
Other than the Red Bulls new stadium are there any plans for KC or NE to build soccer specific stadiums? Seeing them play in the stadiums built for the NFL teams isn't that much fun. Both teams are looking to build new stadiums soon. I believe Kansas City has a design ready, while New England is bidding out the project to local cities who would like to host the team. Playing in NFL stadiums isn't fun. What's particularly annoying is the girdiron lines during the NFL season... I guess no one wants to pay the money to remove the lines before a MLS game and then repaint it for a NFL game. Look at Giants Stadium where the Jets and Giants have to repaint the endzone all the time... The artificial Field Turf is the next complaint. I know people are warning Beckham about how he's going to ache the next day after playing on Turf. The next two seasons are important for MLS. Can Beckham and the other international stars attract much more attendance to MLS matches? If they're successful, then I can see cities putting up the resources to build MLS stadiums. Look at all the problems in San Jose... The city has been indecisive about building a stadium for the new San Jose Earthquakes. If people demand to see MLS with Beckham, then I can see the city pushing for a new stadium. Otherwise San Jose doesn't see the economic benefit. I know that Chivas Mex will build a new stadium called Estadio Chivas. Watching KC play gives me seizures! The lines are so hard to follow. I don't know when that'll happen, because soccer-specific stadiums cost ALOT of money. They would have a much larger chance of getting the money if one of them won the MLS cup this year. toronto fc.. I know there's a DC United stadium in progress at Poplar Point (I believe...) Well according to wikipedia the Kansas City Wizards are actively searching for ways to finance and bulid their own stadium, while the New England Revolution will in the foreseeable future, continue to play in Gillette Stadium but has expressed interest in securing their own soccer-specific stadium. I don't know if either team have made any progress with that yet nor do I know if there is any recent news about that either. |
