Mls status?

if you go to the Chicago Fire's web site and then to their roster page (http://web.mlsnet.com/players/index.jsp?... you will see a column that says "MLS Status". What do these abbreviations (DEV, S-I, DYI, SYI) mean/stand for?

Dev - Developmental (reserve players)
They mostly play for the reserve teams and their salaries don't count against the cap.

S-I - Senior International (foreign players over the age of 23 or 24, I'm not sure about the age).

They count in the salary cap and each team is allowed to have 4 players of this status.

DYI - Developmental Youth International (reserve foreign players under the age of 23 or 24 I believe).

I'm not sure how many of these players each MLS team is allowed to have or if they count against the cap.

SYI - Senior Youth International (those promoted from DYI) They count against the salary cap.

DP - Designated Player (introduced to bring players like Beckham without having to raise the cap or the player-max)

Each team has 1 DP slot although one more can be added via a trade. Counts only $400K against the cap, the team owner is on the hook for rest of his salary.

Hope you have not passed out.
