the best left sided player never to represent England..............discuss I'm not sure about that........... I'd probably have Ronaldhino or Llionel Messi above him! Seriously though I've seen a lot of Matt Lockwood over the years. He lives local to me and used to do the trophy presentations for my lad's team. He's spent his whole career so far at Orient and he's always seemed to have a lot of talent. He's a good leader on the park and reads the game well. Strong in the tackle and a brave defender. He's also very good with delivery and a good striker of the ball. I think if he had been blessed with a bit more pace he could have settled into midfield nicely, either on the left or in the centre. Being honest though I haven't seen anything from him to suggest he would settle in a decent Championship side let alone a Premier League side. He's never jumped head and shoulders above players in League 1 like some people have who are names known by everyone and are then signed by higher league clubs. I think Matt will do well at Forest in League 1, and it would be nice if they get promoted for Matt to stay and make the left back role his own as I'm sure with their finances and support Forest will get back to the top end of the Championship in the next few seasons.................... I wouldn't put my money on Matt being left back in a team at the top of the Championship just yet though..................... Be nice if he could prove me wrong! yes,,,he used to play for southend united |
