Is the whole tevez saga just another sign of how corrupt british society has become?

Is the whole tevez saga just another sign of how corrupt british society has become?

This whole saga has started because the PL have a rule, one that isn麓t in existence in most associations, that no team should enter into a contract that is open to third party influence.

The practise of owners of the players selling them when they choose has been common practise though out the football fraternity and is common knowledge to FIFA.

Yes WHU broke a rule but, under English law as i understand it, the clause in the contract isn麓t legally binding, so msi hadn麓t really a leg to stand on as this same law gives the right to either party to unilaterally tear it up.

However, i believe that msi actually own the commercial rights to Tevez where as West Ham own his registration, one that has a further 3 years to run.

I am now entering the area of supposition here, but i would imagine that if msi want to sell Tevez they must first buy him out of the contract with West Ham, bearing in mind that the clause has now been rendered null and void under English law.

I wouldn麓t go as far as to say that this business has shown how corrupt British society has become, it just highlights just what needs to be done in a totally untried system. Until something happens you are often unaware of the snags in the rules. This is a first off, and i am more than sure that the PL are working hard towards making sure something like this doesn麓t happen again.

And here lays another problem, to now give a ruling that it will be automatic points deduction for this offence will have others who infringe it in the future screaming precedence. I think the whole ruling on third party influence and loan deals need to be totally looked at, complete transfers also.

A ruling that each player loaned or transferred must not play against their previous club in the same season. That way all are aware of the rule and are not pressured into a signing they want but are blackmailed at the same time.

Added. jonbonbaldy, Total drivel , Firstly the FA, with whom Brooking works are completely seperate from the PL which is the body involved in this business.

Secondly , Brooking wasn麓t even near the original panel let alone on it, so it would suggest that the only thing corrupt is your mind and it麓s intentions. Get your facts right in future before posting what only sounds like bitter ramblings.
i dont think so...in my opinion its shows how football agents are ruining players by transfering them to the best club for there player instead they are just grabbing money!!!!
This whole tevez thing is getting out of hand..Who exactly owns tevez?..If west ham dont have hid reg papers then surely sheff utd would have won their appeal to get west ham dock points..football is getting more corrupt by the day and its fans like us that get hit the hardest..
Third-party ownership happens all the time in Spain, Italy...we just need to relax our rules (not laws, I might stress) on it.
put it this way dude, if liverpool was able to play mascherano, and west ham was not deducted points by playing tevez, i don't see any reason why man utd will have any problems at all.

the important thing here is to make all transfer deals transparent so accusations of corruption will not hold any water.
I'm a sheffield united fan ,before you start i'd just like to say tevez is one of the best player's to ever grace the premiership and i hope he stay's in england as i love to watch him play ,but this corruption in football goe's all the way to the top as in life its not what you know or what you do its who you know and how well connected they are .
All im gonna say is sir trevor brooking on the f.a board life long west ham fan ,martin peters another high up in the f.a and yes you guessed it a ex west ham player who love the club.
Its ppl like this who decide's whats wrong and right looking through there claret coloured glasses ,kick them out and you solve half the problem.
Oh yeah and richard scudamore will sell his soul to the highest bidder just ask the west ham board.
no, its the players agents who are corrupting the game
