Why haven't arsenal swooped for owen? |
owen can't want to stay at mid table mediocrity bound newcastle so why don't the gooners make a move for him to replace henry? all the talk is of torres, tevez, berbatov. doesn't anyone remember owen? or does the fact that none of the big four have gone for owen tell us he's not rated anymore? Although Michael Owen is still a good player....he's way past his best. Also, he still hasn't proved his fitness after his horrific injury. I don't think any of the big teams would be prepared to gamble on signing him because of this. I think Tevez would have been a terrific signing for Arsenal if Wenger could have persuaded the board to finance it. With his non stop running and excellent skill, he could have been an ideal replacement for Henry although they are very different types of player. With Torres now at Liverpool, Tevez likely to join Man Utd, and Berbatov unlikely to move from Spurs...I'm at a loss wondering how Henry is going to be replaced.
