Is it just me or does Oswaldo Sanchez always....? |
... blame his defense when he gets scored on? Sanchez was yelling at Alberto Medina because on a corner kick every player is designated a place whether it be marking a man or covering a post. After the initial play from the corner was taken Medina left his spot leaving the post unguarded which allowed the ball to go through causing Sanchez to react towards him. Sanchez yells in general to his defense not to blame them, but to bring it to their attention that they aren't doing their job. It's the defense's job to not allow the opponent a scoring opportunity. The defender is responsible for staying with their man, preventing the opponent from receiving the ball, making the opponent uncomfortable when he has the ball so that he releases it quickly, and assuming their responsibilities on set plays. So Sanchez's ultimate reason for yelling is to be the leader in the defense and keep everyone in check. Santos Laguna does not have a very good defence. but they are still a good team Yeah he does blame his defense a lot but maybe he was yelling at him for a play prior to the goal cause nobody was getting to that shot " i coulda swore i saw oswaldo blame the defender when donovan scored the PK, jk" LOL. Well I think most goalkeepers are like that. They get so nervous so they need to release anger at someone. I dont blame Oswaldo. I think that's just how he and many act in such situations. |
