I have a 4 stroke motorbike with no compression? |
the bike has no compression and is not producing a spark, when i try to kick start the bike its smooth and does not kick back No compression will not happen instantly, It will take time & you will notice the deterioration. Looks like something to do with the ignition. Remove the cap of the spark plug & hold it to the plug top & see whether you get the spark if not you need attend to check the CDI unit, or check the ignition wire whether it is broken.:) The engine needs to be stripped to determine the problem(assuming the spark plug and its thread are OK). Sounds like the piston(s) may be holed. You most likely need to rebuild the bike. If you are lucky the cylinder will not be scratched and you can by a piston for around a 100 dollars. why do u have a 4 stroke?!! First, if engine is equipped with a compression release - check for malfunction. Check your spark plug hole - make sure it isn't stripped. If the plug hole is stripped - you can repair that with a heli-coil. (Engine top end tear down.) If the plug hole isn't stripped, you'll still need to tear down the top end to determine the problem. Could be: bad head gasket, stuck or bent valve, damage to head, cyleinder, rings or piston. the compression could be as simple as the rings gone bad. If its not that then I'm going to have to say it's a valve. but the spark problem I'm going to say its the points buts that's a wild guess. But if it's a ngk or a champion it will not make a spark any ways. listen to GE |
