How are you supposed to shift on a mottocross track? |
with a two stroke same way not on the track, just shift. Yes Chuck there shifting constantly do the peaky power curve of a two stroke motor. Peaky means that maximum power occurs at a very narrow RPM band. Any less revolutions per minute inside the motor the power decreases rapidly and the motor looses a ton of power unlike a 4 cycle motor. yes, and youre not supposed to break, if you are racing Well i have a 125, and what i normaly do is i am in third alot of the track. but it can go pretty high but if you go to high it will lose all power and you could crash. but basicly if you here that over rev shift up a gear even if it is just for a few feet. it will save you more and more time as you go. but the bad thing is if you miss a gear there is a way higher chance of crashing on a two smoker the a 4 stroke. |
