Starter motorcycle, which one would be better?


I'm getting ready to purchase my first bike. For just starting out which bike would be better for me a 1984 HONDA SHADOW VT-500 or a 1998 Suzuki Marauder? I'm 5'7" and about 140 lbs, information that might help in giving me advise.

Between those two, I'd say the Honda, as I recall the Suzuki is real small.

You will outgrow either one of those in no time. Source(s): My wife was convinced she had to have a small bike (Honda VTX) for a beginner bike. Within a month she was ready to move up - now she rides a BMW CLC
You want to start bigger because in a short period of time you will tire of the bike and want to go bigger.
Happened to me now ride a 1100.
