What is the top speed of the 2007 yamaha R1?


I have had my R1 up to 159 and had plenty of throttle left, just not enough highway. What is the fastest anyone out there has been on theirs?

The average book speed is 175mph this is an accurate calibrated reading.

I would say that your indicated 159 could be between 6 & 10% out as motorcycle speedos are commonly know to be out espically at the higher speeds.

But hey its not the top speed that counts but you enjoy your bike!
theres a tool on here that put an extended swing arm on his and it magically did over 200
