I have a crf 230 dirt bike i am going to do i little motocross do you think the suspension is good enough?

i well be hitting 5-7 foot jumps. the reason why i ask my friend had one and he broke his back shock jumping it.

A CRF 230 should be able to handle these jumps at moderate speed. injuries are more likely to occur as a consequence to the wrong jumping technique than because of the suspension. land on the rear wheel and don't go to fast. if you don't hear the suspension bottoming out, you are ok. if it bottoms out, go for a real motorcross bike because that means you are either to fast or jumping to far for the CRF 230. Suspension mods will not make this bike lighter. so if you really want to do MX, get an MX bike.
no it is not. it is a good trail bike but it is also just too heavy to do motocross i would sugest a cr150 it has much better suspension and is only a little more. if you really want the crf230 though i would deff get different suspesions
No I have the same bike and I would hit some pretty small jumps and bottom out. However to fix the forks I just put some PVC pipe in them to make them stiffer. I would probably buy a new back suspension but their a little too expensive for my price range. Go to www.offroad.com then go to enthusiast>dirtbikes>project crf230 . It gives you step by step instructions on what parts to buy and how to install it.
