How can I become a ama superbike racer? Well are you asking a serious question, or hypothetical? To compete in any sport at the top level, you need to have a solid program and knowledge of your sport. As far as how, well you would first obviously have to get on the bike and show you can run up front, which isn't an easy task....unless you have a great sponsor and a bike to go along with it. Superbike is a grass roots style progress, so once you can lead races and show you can handle the pressure's, then hopefully you will either find a factory or sponsor to help fund your efforts. Age can play a factor, but it's not always the case. John Dowd got his first factory sponsorship from Yamaha late in his career. Morgan Shepherd got his first NASCAR win at the age of 39 as a rookie, so if you have what it takes to win, then you will most likely get noticed. Good luck....if in fact it's what you want to do. Go out and practice on track days at all the tracks that put on such practice days in your area. Start racing local races in your area, Cycle News and Roadracing World have ads in the back for races in different areas. Do as many as you can. It takes lots and lots of practice. When you have practiced a whole lot then practice some more! Keep upgrading your gear and your techniques. If you start doing really well you will get noticed and you will start to get offers and help. The better you do the more opportunities will open up to you. At a certain point it will become easier and you will get there almost automatically but ONLY if you are totally dedicated.... ];-) Good luck .. How old are you? To be dead honest, teams dont care for new riders unless they have raced since they were 4 and are now only just turning 15. Case in point: Bradley Smith.
