If its for play only then yes.

The main Principal that makes a mxer a mxer is speed and suspension.

If you start off with something like a road legal trial bike you can strip off all the lights and clocks ect that makes it road legal to loose some weight.

The suspension can be made a bit better but will be low cost units to start with and the amount of adjustment will be limited. So the best thing to do would be to stiffen up with what adjustments you have available or at a push add a little more oil or a heavier weight oil to the forks.

At the end of the day it will never compete against a proper motocross bike but as a play bike will get you started and having fun while you get the funds together.

Just don't expect to much and added to that you will find its limits fairly quickly
Well said Mark.

It could be done, but for the time / money / hassle, I would say to buy a second hand MX bike!
well i have been a round them my whole life it might be around $800 or maybe not that it dependes on how bad the bike is like the model of the bike and things
