If NASCAR made ALL driver's qualify on time, and there was no top 35 are locked in.........? |
Then what would you do when your favorite driver didn't make the race due to bad equipment, bad luck, or possible wreck? Take Jeff Gordon for example, what if he crashed during quals and didn't make the race. How would you feel if it happened to your favorite driver? This question is mainly for those who believe the top 35 being locked in, is crap and beleive everyone should qualify on time no matter who you are. Thank you for making my point. I made this in an early question because everyone is fretting over what happened. But if Gordon or Jr missed the race it would pale in comparison to this. Edit-It is amazing to see how people get all sentimental and loose all their logical reasoning. You can do the top 12 cause then what about 12-20 who have a shot at making the chase. What about 13-20, they could make the chase but under your rules you wont let them. Youd have Biffle, Kurt Busch, McMurry, Newman all miss the race?? Good luck getting their fans to believe that one. Also they have the Top 35 in play so to keep sponsers happy. Tell Budwiser, oh Jr didnt make the race, looks like you wont be able to advertise, youve wasted millions. If this happened sponsors would pull and the sport would fold. NASCAR needs the sponsorship funds and the Top 35 rule keeps the sponsors happy. Earnhardt would have missed one race in 1994, he won the Cup that year. Would have missed 1 in 95, twice in 97, 8 in 98, 9 in 99, 5 in 2000 (he finished 2nd in points) heck yeah i agree with ya 1000000000000000%!!! have a nice night go 24# jeff gordon rules!!!!! 35 is just way too many! The guys not in the top 35 really don't have a shot of getting in to the top 35. The are bound to miss a race here and there and so long as the 35th places car doesn't have 5 weeks of 40th or worse it is nearly impossible to catch him! Nascar had it "right" (or at least much better!) years ago when the top 7 points guys not to qualify on time were given provisionals! This would more fair especially to the guys who got off to a slow start! Well, I would feel bad that he did not qualify, but I would just be glad he was not hurt and could race another day. we need the top 35 or else Joe Nemecheck might miss the race, and what about Ricky Rudd. If they dont make race who is Kevin Harvick going to punch out, Biffle? I wonder if you could go back in historicals to see how many races Dale Sr would have missed if he had a bad qualifying? If I remember right, back in the day it was a run what ya brung! |
