For Gloria... What should African Americans do to break into Nextel for good? |
Bill Lester races in the truck series. Can he be succesfull in the Sprint Cup? Nascar is open to whoever can make it into the race as long as they can prove themselves,can`t get PC and give them a space in the race because of there race or color. goes for women too as long as you can prove yourself yah can make it in,there were other african americans in nascar besides Bill Lester,some women have made it to some levels in nascar like Erin Crocker,Kelly Sutton. I think if Bill Lester gets himself into a ride he could do well,he`s been pretty good in trucks, he even raced a few Busch races. same thing Caucasians do. there is no race issue here. as long as no-one tries to create one. No mystery here. The only thing ~ANYBODY~ has to do, is outdrive the ten thousand other talented and well qualified hopefuls who'd give ten years off the end of their lives to be there. If there were a black (or green or purple) guy out there who could outdrive Jeff Gordon or Mark Martin or etc etc etc make no mistake whatsoever, every team on the circuit would be after him! This is one area where affirmative action takes a backseat to affirmative talent! amen to wanjoy101. earn your way in. listen to what some of the drivers did to get where there at. ole' "smoke" had already proven his way in sprint cars. my goodness, he won "the triple crown" . to my knowledge, that's a feat many cant ascertain. and even he didnt just walk in and say, im a champion so gimme a cup car. oops i forgot, hes even won in indy cars. I'm not sure why you're asking me about African American racers, I don't look at drivers for their race, only their ability behind the wheel...I think Bill Lester has as much chance as anyone else with the right team behind him, he could be good, regardles of his race. Ballew, who fields a truck for Lester, said he would like to run at Indianapolis, Atlanta, Charlotte and Homestead, if he can secure funding. "I've got the cars and the promise of support from DEI, but it all depends on sponsorship," Ballew said. He also raced in two races in 2006 finishing 35 or worst. |
