How does the Olympic torch travel?
I guess it can't be taken on a plane, so how do they get it across seas and oceans?

In fact it does fly. They take it on planes to travel across the ocean. I have not seen how they plan on moving it from Greece to China, but there is a plan to run it around most of China before it goes to Beijing.

The flame can go by plane. In 2004 The flame was transported from country to country aboard a specially-equipped Boeing 747 leased from Atlanta Icelandic (Registration TF-ARO). called Zeus.
Remarkable means of transportation were used in 1976, when the flame was transformed to an electronic pulse. From Athens, this pulse was carried by satellite to Canada, where a laser beam was used to re-light the flame. In 2000, the torch was carried under water by divers near the Great Barrier Reef. Other unusual means of transportation include an Native American canoe, a camel, and Concorde.
