Gymnasium dimensions?

What are the standard dimensions of high school gymnasium?

Very difficult question to answer, as seating arrangements can vary wildly.

The one set figure, however, is the size of the basketball court. A regulation high school court is 84 feet long and 50 feet wide. Everything around it, however, can differ.

Older gyms may only have 3 or 4 feet from the endline to the wall; newer gyms may have 10 feet to the wall. Some gyms might have bleachers on one side, others on both sides, and I've been in several gyms that have in the round seating. So other than the basketball floor everything is up to the size of the school, whims of the community, and school board budgets.

A small school might just have one basketball court sized gym; most schools will have two either full size or near full size courts running across the game floor with bleachers pulling out over the ends of the practice court. Again, the variables of seating are nearly endless.
