Do you think is it really a good choice to held the XXII Olympic Games in Russia in Sochi? |
I mean Olympic Games of 2014 It's a great choice. Congrats to Sochi!!! Russia deserves it's first winter games , don't you think? And the IOC is not that stupid, FYI Sochi wouldn't even be in the finals if they didn't have any facilities or (tell me that was a joke...) any SKI slopes.:)) lol They've actually done a lot in Sochi and the IOC has seen the results with their own eyes. Russia is taking this very seriously, so a great winter olympiad is guaranteed. Sochi is a gorgeous city, it's amazing(for those of you who have never been there or heard of it). to the person below: who are you to say Russia is messed up or slow to develop? I've lived there for the past 5 years and I SEE the development with my own eyes. Russia is actually developing very fast, check out the statistics if u don't believe me. And who are you to say that China or any other country is messed up, huh? You have no right to judge. Who cares what I think, it will make no difference where they will be played. no because russia is a little bit dirty Not a bad one.i'd say. 7yrs ahead is long enough 2 change the internal situation in Russia 4 the better.Wish them success. It is a bad choice. The 2012 Olympics will be in London, so that is 2 in a row in Europe. There are no facilities at Sochi. None, no arenas, no ski slopes, no hotels, no transportation, no restaurants, nothing. We are to believe that everything will be built and ready to go on time. It may be like Athens where the construction was still in progress during the games, and the IOC threatened to move the games back to Sydney if they did not get to work (which was an empty threat and had no effect on the Greeks) or things may not get done at all. So all constructions would be in one place,to winter sports cunstractions would be 30 mins by electric clean transport of miniunderground and there is very clean this year,so everything changed there this year,so prices for flats are like in Moscow or highyer...4.000 $ for 1 squer meter.....so there would be electric transport,the climate is the best in the world,because even in may when near sea is +30C,in mountains is snow....in March it would be spend games there and would be +17C in middle temp,but in mountains would be -5C...and 150.000.000 $ for ecology in Sochi is good thing and you cant speack about city if you was not been there...its very clean city with exotic tropical trees for europens..... typical american piece of **** who thinks they are better than russians or anyone else for that matter. i dont see how this is any worst than when they picked the most pathetic city on earth, Salt Lake City, to hose the winter olympics. Or when they picked Atlanta to host the summer olympics. Or when they picked Palo Alto, California to host brazil's games in the 1994 world cup. Listen, russia ain't the richest, or the happiest place on earth, but it is a better place to host a sporting event than the usa, or korea, or china, because of two reasons. the people are actually [truly] passionate about sports, in an intelligent way (as in, not because its the month's fashion), and because sochi is an amazing city. it was the premiere ski destination for VIP's in the Soviet Union and anyone who thinks it isn't developed yet is an idiot. It has a long way to go because it is already packed with tourists (being one of the warmer places in russia during the summer) and it would just over-flow if they didn't put billions of dollars into new infrastructure. plus they need new stadiums.. look it is people like you that are the reason st. petersburg & moscow lost all their bids to host the summer olympics... and instead won by Bejing & London. Russia is far from perfect but its still not as bad as China, and people in Russia wouldn't treat the olympics in a political way like the chinese do. probably because the athletes in russia CHOOSE to persue their given sports while in China they are hand picked from the age of 3 or 4 and forced to train from morning till night for years and years like a bloody robot. I suggest boycotting the Bejing olympics mainly for that reason.. but also for hundreds of other horrible reasons including because human slaves are used to built the venues themselves. I agree Russia is messed up but boycotting them won't achieve anything. The reason Russia is messed up and so slow to develop is because of the power of the various mafias. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the $12 billion allocated to be used on Sochi will be mysteriously lost. Neither the Russian people or the Russian govt can do much about this, last 15 years many many many govt officials were killed by assassins because they tried to end even the smallest cases of corruption. I'm not saying China doesn't have mafia but unlike the Russian State, the Chinese State is extremely powerful and is what chooses to make it such a fked up country. you would never ever hear of a Chinese govt official being car bombed by anyone |
