Why is it called a "try" in Rubgy League? |
Why is it called a "try" in Rubgy League? both rugby codes use Try as a method of scoring. in the very first games of rugby you could only score points from converting the ball from a spot over the cross bar. You earned the oppertunity to 'Try' and kick for goal by carrying the ball over the 'Try-Line'. Hope this helps. Try is the same in all rugby not just leugue.' A Try is called a try becaause somone tried to get a tri???' i dont know it what the first think the person thought of when he invented footy lol and 14 years ago a try used to only be 3 points not 4 and 5. My Huge Friken Brain lol some dopey football player thought it up because he couldn't figure out the difference between success and effort. because you have to try to get a try. You can not accidently get a try i have no idea but maybe years ago you only got three points instead of four so they called it a tri ? |
