How many years did Andrew Johns play with Newcastle for? |
How many matches all up? Are you sad he's retiring? I am, and I don't even support the Knights. Joey was signed by the Knights as a 15 yr old junior and made his debut in 1993 as a reserve and in the starting side from 94. Up until his announcement, he had played 247 first grade matches for the Knights and currently holds the National Rugby League record for the most points scored, with a total of 2170 (80 tries, 914 goals and 22 field goals). He won premierships with the Knights in 1997 and as captain in 2001 and played his entire career with the club apart from a brief stint with Warrington at the end of the 2005 season. He is one of the game鈥檚 most acclaimed players with many awards including the Dally M Player of the Year Award in 1998, 1999 and 2002. He also won the Clive Churchill Medallion for the best player in the grand final in the Knight鈥檚 2001 victory over Parramatta. I wish he could have finished his career on his own terms, but nothing is more important than his health and life. Thanks Joey for the memories. All the best to him in the rest of his life. What a sad loss to football!! Source(s): http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?... Aint Andy been there for at least 7 year? And dont forget to discount the year he got injured out I go for the Raiders but I admire Johnsey hes a good bloke I think Too many...very overated player He made his debut in Round 6 1993 against the Gold Coast Seagulls, so that makes 18 seasons playing for the Knights. Not sure exactly how many games he played for his club, but he played 21 tests for Australia and 23 State of Origins for NSW. I wouldn't say I'm a huge Joey fan but I must admit he was a great player and a huge loss for the game. I'm not really sad about it as I sort of thought his time was just about up anyway.
