800m time for 13 year old girl?
my time is 2:39....is that at all good?
i'm a14 guy and am now running xc but i ran track up untill now since the 3rd grade these were my PR's 800-2:16, 1500-4:43,mile-4:56, 3000-10:02, 2 mile-10:18, 5k-16:03, 10k- 40:41
I'm pretty sure that's around my time maybe better than what I got last year.
thats a good time.. that around the time i got.. practice harder and you can get alot better
Too good !
I think that its a great time.
You have 4-5 years before you have to start worrying about where you stack up against everyone.
Continue to run and have FUN...
If you work hard and enjoy what you do your times will naturally come down and you will learn a lot about your event.
Im trying to be honest, Im 13 and I run for club track and i did the 800 when i was eleven in 2:35.1, and i came in first, and the second place was 2:35.3 but third was around 2:50. Im 13 now and i dont run the 800 anymore, i run the 1600 and 3200. So i dont know what my time is now, but in the last meet the first place came in 2:29 and second was 2:34. I think you are capeable of being in the top three. I think if you put your mind to it and practice hard, and never give up you could have the potential to be number 1. Try this workout atleast once we did it, when we were training, it might sound hard to you or easy, i dont really know what pace your at, but this is how i built my endurence and speed, i did this workout and several workouts like this about 3x a week.
5x100, with 5 seconds rest in between
4x200, with 10 seconds rest in between
3x400, with 15 seconds rest in between
2x800, with 20 seconds rest in between
1x1600, when finish jog 2 times around the track, easy catch your breath and drink lots of water,
1x800 all out fast.
take 5 minute break then repeat set, once more.
when finish jog a 800 slow and steady, this set will help build up endurence so you can stay faster, longer.
Hope this helps, good luck, and what ever you do, just keep pushing your self and dont ever give up.
WOW!That is a great time for a 13 year old. Usally you see them running it a lilttle slower then you. Keep it up!
