Running in the morning, good idea?
Me and my friend, who are 16, go running every weekday morning. We run for about 2 miles, I know it's not a lot, but we're working are way up. I've heard things like you sould not run every morning because it's unhealthy or something, what do you think?
I think the key here is "every" morning. You shouldn't run 7 days a week unless at least one of those runs is significantly easier than the other 6. Your body needs time to recover and recuperate and it is this resting time that actually makes you stronger.
In regard to hydrating, gatorade is great if you drink it right. As it comes the concentration of electrolytes is about twice that which can be absorbed by your body. As gold medal winner in the 4x100 and bronze in the 100m in the 68 Mexico City Olympics, Charlie Greene told me "water down your gatorade." You should mix it so there is equal parts water and gatorade, so fill a water bottle half with gatorade and half with water and it works amazingly at hydrating.
It`s a good idea to run in the morning. However you should cover yourself in the morning if you live in a cold country. In fact it is the only damgerous factor for running in the morning. Your body is hot in the morning and if you dont cover yourself properly the sudden change in temperature when getting outside can cause at long term serious illness
I loved to work out in the morning. It seemed to energize me for the rest of the day. And it is still cool in the morning, so you dont have to be in the heat
I am training to run my third marathon and I always run in the morning. After 8 am it is really hot, so between 6 and 8 is the best. On my Saturday long runs sometimes I run for 3 hours, so it is from 6 to 9 and I can tell you it is already hot hot hot.
Some people do not have the time to run in the mornings, or they just don't want to. What they do is running in the late evening, like around 8 pm. But then you may feel really exhausted after a long hard working day and you may choose to stay home. That is why running in the morning should be a better option. Also, there are many runners who run in the morning, so you may make some new friends. Also, birds are very active at that time, and it is really beautiful to run among birds singing. Last, there are not many cars driving around, so I would say it is also safer if part of your running is in the streets.
Theres nothing bad about running in the morning. Make sure you wake up early enough to allow yourself to have breakfast. Eating before you run in the morning is important because it gives you energy. Just dont run immeadiatly after you eat. I wake up around 7 for my track practices which start at 9 so i can eat and get some energy. Try carb stacking as well-eat lots of carbs for dinner and then have a quick snack in the morning.
Ohhhh...lol i forgot. The most important thing besides getting food in your body is hydrating yourself. Make sure you have enough water in your body before you run because you will start cramping if you are dehydrated and trust me...cramps while you're running hurt!! :-)
