How close to the real weight of stick?

The last question reminded me to ask my stick is marked as 19 oz but weighs 20.5 no big deal just wondering if they guess or use diff.mesuerment
Thanks Johnny

Is it possible that someone added weight to your cue? Are you the original owner? We actually used a digital scale to weigh our cues at Cue-U: The College of Pool and Billiards and it was very accurate. Usually the markings are within a half ounce of the true weight. Sorry I can't be a bigger help. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.
I use digital scales that are highly accurate. Has there been a shaft change? this alone can make a big diff.
Since it is a players pete it was prob a mis-mark
