Is there anything that can distract you during play?

This could be anything. It could be the hot girl walking by. It could be a song on the juke box that you hate. It could be an arguement you had at home or work. I'm just curious. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

2 pet peeves here that hurt my game. Slow play, and I mean the player who lights a smoke, take a drink, ties his shoe reads the paper,fixes his tip, talks on the cell, and then takes a minute and a half to shoot and the repeats it all on the next shot. The other is a player who wants to hold a long conversation with you while you are trying to get to the table to shoot.

A nice *** walking by always gets me.
People who are walking quickly towards the table but who come to an abrupt halt so as not to walk in front of my shot distract me. I can't concentrate on what I need to be concentrating on; I just see that person like a statue out of the corner of my eye. I usually end up standing up and waving him or her on. I appreciate the effort, but it usually works better for me for people to just walk on by.
Straight.......life in general is a distraction.....that come back in an earlier question....."nothing bothers me" is just BS......life in general is always there to distract someone....it is hard for my game I think to really get to the next level I think because of this....even at my age I think that I could become a serious player....I never lose hope and will always believe that.....but can't get past "life" in general....too much #%!* to worry about.....these young kids have nothing to worry about except the balls in front of them....in the mean time.....I'm just trying to take care of mine and my family's.....love the game....no, I actually "LUST" the game but kinda hard to keep up with life and a "mistress"(pool) at the same time.....I have the "heart" for the game but not the time for two mistress's......I just see her on the "sly" from time to time......she is "sexy" and keeps me coming back....lucky that my wife lets me see her just to keep me statisfied!!!
