Why does the cue ball always come back out in a different hole than the other balls in a game of 8-ball? |
Hi. This might be a lame question but my friend and I were wondering why the white ball always comes back out in a 8ball pool machine table (and not the other balls)? Thanks! It depends on the brand of table. Dynamo tables have a slightly larger cue ball which allows it to pass over a hole into a different tunnel. Valley tables usually have a ball with an iron plug or iron filings mixed into it when it's made in order to catch a magnet. Both balls are slightly heavier than the other balls on the table. Diamond tables actually have a laser that sorts out the cue ball, so it's exactly like the other balls on the table. In some other countries, the cue ball is smaller so it falls into a different tunnel. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee. It is a different size and so it goes down a different ramp. Because its magic. The cue ball weighs either slightly heavier or slightly lighter. I forget which one. It's a slightly different diameter from the other balls It must be a slightly different size ... or a very intelligent machine which recognizes colour. Well for the tables that you have to pay $.75 to play, if your cue ball went into the same place as the other balls you're pocketing, then if someone scratched you'd be fu**ed. Nobody's perfect - scratching happens - that's that. |
