How to brush a pool table?

Hello! I have just become a pool table owner a few weeks ago and got it re-felted (it's been in storage since 1990!) It's manu. date is 1985, hence the re-felting and I was just wondering (since I forget) what is the proper way to brush it to keep it nice and smooth.

you start at where the cue ball goes and work you're way down, that is the proper way of doing it. i used to play competition 8 ball.

just brush all the dirt and stuff into the pockets........theres really no propper way of doin it

did u put felt or did u put cloth, there is a diff. if u used felt there really isnt no specific way but cloth you have to bruch a certain way. i use a handheld dirt devil so suck the dirt out of the cloth as doing this will take the dirt out instead of pushing it all to the rails and pockets. it makes ur fely look really good !
What makes it felt ?? ive never seen real felt on a pool table it wouldnt last 3 sets
But both answers as long as you clean the pockets i use a vac. on my 3 bar tables but a brush on my table at home it dont get the traffic
use to be lots of things just where does the cue ball go
