Rebuilding a pool table?

I just recently acquired a pool table from a friend, and in the process of rebuilding it I have noticed that the felt is pretty terrible. Is there any particular brand of felt that is economical so that I don't end up spending a fortune to recover the table?

I would think of it in these terms. Do I want to have to put new cloth on the table in a few years? Do I want to get little "pills" of cloth all over the place? Do I want the table to form gullies? Do I want little burn marks all over the place from break shots? My point here is, if you plan to keep this table for any length of time and want to get the most enjoyment out of it, choose a high quality cloth. Do it right the first time, and in the long run, it will pay for itself over and over. Go with a good name like Simonis or Brunswick Centennial. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.
Right on Straight -Even if you dont keep it the recover will be done -A real selling point for you and the buyer dont even consider substandard CLOTH as Straight pointed out it would be a waste of time & money
