What should i do to become a pro surfer ? |
What should i do to become a pro surfer ? I'm a surfer. I learned to surf in Hawaii. Don't do something drastic and move to Hawaii to learn how to surf, the waves are dangerous there and you have a great chance of getting hurt or dieing! Learn how to surf wherever you live and just keep practicing. Not sure if you can become pro though, depending on your age and experience. I would usggest taking classes before guying a board so you know what kind of board suits you best. Talk to local surfers near you, or a surf shop or your teacher when you take classes. Surf 'till it hurts... when you can outshread anyone... you are ready. Practice practice practice.... Oh and be in the right place at the right time to get your break (a little more tricky) If you are serious and think you can meet the demanding requirements, contact the ASP for a list of coaches/managers or send me an email directly. I do recommend that you have sponsors going in and a way to finance yourself until you get some serious sponsors. perfect ur balance. then practice doing body varials. then backside and frontside kickturns. practice on different places. i guess u should be able to surf at least a 6ft wave. join surf contests. ppl will recognize u . u might even get sponsored by sum surf companies. and u hav to get sponsored to be recognised. u will start to improved ur surfing skill much easier. tour a lot and work hard and win lots of contest. if ur an amature surfer, try joining a pro contest this will show how much u kick as$. another way to get sponsored is to send ur surf video to company and they might or might not approve. u could also send one to a surfshop. |
