How thick is an 8' surf board for a 200lbs man?

This is a tough question since it depends on how well you surf and if you are having a custom board shaped. My guess is you will need a board 2 3/4" to catch waves well.

2-3" for sure, I am guessing you are pretty new, if you want a thinner board, jump up to a 9'0" Board width is important too, dont go real skinny.
