Is the surfing in los angeles even good? |
Is the surfing in los angeles even good? LA doesn't have any breaks. I surf near Ventura and Port Hueneme. (pronounced wai-nimi) Ventura beach has some good waves, but the beach can get pretty full. Port Hueneme has good waves also, but it usually has the same amount of people as Ventura. I have found both of those places are best during the afternoon, or just my personal preference. The mornings are not so great. Hope this helps. Source(s): Personal Experience its good early in the mornng when its not crowded around los angeles. like hunington beach. its the best place to surf. ya LA doesn't really have breaks but instead there are many beach towns along LA with good breaks from Palos Verdis north to Ventura and beyond. It depends on what part of LA you are in. I would not surf Lanada Bay because of the localism problem they have. The beach breaks fom Torrance north to Redondo and Hermosa are popular and fun, Santa Monica and the breaks near LAX to Malibu get very crowded. From Malibu going north to County Line and Hollywood by the Sea have localism problems besides crowds. Beyond that north are many good breaks but you are getting away from the LA crowd. Surfing in LA is like driving in LA, very crowded and full of aggressive KOOKS!!! |
