This happens whenever I go surfing?

Whenever I surf I get painful bruises on my ribs and hib bones from lying on the board. What can I do about this? Has this happened to anyone else?

I get that too if I long board. eventually, you get used to it...it kinda becomes somewhat like a callous on your hips. if you're long boarding, maybe try a smaller board that's not so buoyant. I ride boards that are between 5'9" and 6', and I don't usually get that anymore. good luck and happy surfing!
is it like a rash? if thats what it is then you can buy rashgaurd from any surfshop
I used to get red rashes all over my stomach untill i get a rashguard, which are at any surf shop, but if it is an actual bruise that maybe wear a shirt or some type of padding or something to have between you and the board to prevent bruises
If you're a beginner, you could get a softtop, they're always cheap. But if you're more advanced and want to keep riding regular boards, all I can suggest is lots of situps and back exercises so you're body stays balanced on top of the board.
You could eat a little more maybe Ive never had any bruises but, you could try wheren a wetsuit and if you still get bruises then your either a downer or a hemopheliac.
wear football pads
