you can go surfing. you need alot of a longer board. probably about a 8 to 9 foot board. thick. longboard. or a fun board. rocker needs to be flat. you can pretty much go anywhere. i went up to michigan went surfing in lake michigan. good 2-3 foot waves. you can go anywhere. Just make sure that you dont make

The waves aren't big enough.
you surf in oceans not lakes...just common sense
You kinda can't, but this past winter, some people went that i know, and said it was cool!
