Would this be bad? |
Okay i have my period and a very big swim meet tomorrow. I have tried buches of time to put a tampon in but the fact is i cant. Would it be bad to wear a pad until my event then take it off before and then right after i swim go put a new one on? As long as the flow isn't heavy that should be fine. When you are actually in the water, the pressure from the water around you stops blood from coming out, so as long as you mean taking your pad out RIGHT before your event and putting it back on RIGHT after, it's not really a big deal. I've been on a swim team for eleven years and I know plenty of girls who have done just that. yea it would b bad cuz then there would b like u know on ur bottom part of ur suit! OK.... YUCK!!! Not only is that very, very, very disrespectful to others, it is also not sanitary and other people do not want to swim in that. If the level of sanitizer in the pool isnt high enough you can infect other swimmers as well as yourself with more things than I can possibly name here. Please, Please, Please... do not go into a pool without stopping the flow! I am a Certified Pool Operator in NC. Well.. i woyldnt becuase it will get A LITTLE red. And i dont think people want that. Since your meet suit is tight if you dont wait too long there is nothing to worry about. If you plan on doing highschool swimming you have to wear a tampon . the coaches wont let you skip one week out of each month. That would be normal, not bad. Just take your towel to the blocks with you and wrap it around you as soon as you get out. Although we encourage all our female swimmers to learn to put in a tampon, not all can. Most higher-level competitive swimmers do not maintain a heavy flow unless they are in the off-season or out of shape. You are fine. You should have your parents take you to the doctor and have them show you how to properly insert a tampon. |
