Why do people wear swim-caps?

I've been swimming for over 15 years, but I never worn a swim-cap.

Why do people wear one?

I swim laps 5 days per week, and I like the way my hair gets with swimming. It gets spiky in a real cool way.

I actually don't like wearing one because I feel it cuts the circulation on my head, and I feel like I'm cutting oxygen from my hair.

I agree with you. Some people wear one to keep the chlorine from making their bleached hair trun greenish.
Others say the chlorine makes their hair brittle.

I hate swimcaps. They always gave me headaches, because of cutting off the circulation, like you said.

I also swim at least 5 days a week, between a half of a mile and a mile. It's the best exercise there is!
I would feel too embarassed to put one on because it looks like a condom on top of your head, but If I did wear one it would be because the chlorine in the pool is damaging to the hair.
Apparently people prefer to look silly in the water.

Thank you. :-)
They wear swimming caps to protect their hair from the sunlight or from the chlorine which is added in the swimming pool.........
HARDY BOYZ ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or it could be because it helps you glide through the water faster! And also protects your hair from the stuff in the pool.
Even if it does not always keep long hair dry, it does help to keep longer hair from getting all tangled.

Ever got yer hair tangled on a buoy line? Not fun.
