Can u swim with shock treament? |
Can u swim with shock treament? You can, but it's not a good idea if you like your bathing suit and you have skin that doesn't mind high Cl and pH levels. It can be awfully harsh on both. Normally shocking is done at dusk, when everyone is finished with the pool for the day. More bang for you buck (you use less to achieve more) and everyone is done with the pool for the day. Source(s): former pool tech Depends on how much was added, the type it was, and the reason for adding it. In general you won't want to swim in a freshly shocked pool. If you have a few hours to wait and let the pool sit in the sun then you will be fine as long as your total and free chlorine levels are below 10ppm at the highest and 6ppm ideally.
