How do I tuck to do a proper flip? |
How do I tuck to do a proper flip? I am assuming that you want to do something like a flip turn. The concept behind the mechanics of a flip turn is that as you are swimming toward the wall, if you start to bend forward from the hips just a little bit the force of the water hitting your back will flip you around. So, as you are swimming into the wall, tuck your chin into your chest and bend at the waist and try to throw your legs behind you. do 3 bounces, lift your knees right up to your chest, bounce, hug them again and turn over, 9 times out of 10 if u act lyk ur in a corner afraid when you tuck, it works, watch out for landing on your neck, back, or bum though Well, you first get ready when you are near the wall and then you turn, if you can turn in the water then you will be able to do a turn and then that is a flip. You throw and grab both hands to both shins. but one hand on each shin. then you pull thhe tuck smallerby pulling in on your shins. There are many steps to try to do a proper flip turn. This is how I taught my brother who isn't a very good swimmer. 1. In the middle of the pool, float with your face down. Try to have your nose touch you toes and feet kick you rear end. Do this until you can flip. 2. Swim towards the wall and flip based on the instructions above at the "T" at the bottom of the pool. Stand up after you flip. 3. Swim until you get to the wall and then flip and stand up. 4. Swim to the wall flip, and push off. Teaching my brother. if you are standing then push off the bottom of the pool glide for a second tuck your legs up to your chest, kick your legs and "push" your hips over and let your feet slap the water. if you are swimming, see the cross and do a final stroke, "dolphin" kick your legs over your head, pull your legs up to your chest, "kick your legs and push your hips, let your legs!! hit the water and your feet hit the wall, and push as soon as they do. Hope this helps!! |
