The skin on my face reacts to chlorine in swimmimng pools. How can I protect it? I would advise going to see your local doctor as there are several very good barrier creams which are water resistant but you can only get on prescription for this. A old girlfriend of mine uses a cream called 'Siopel' which she says works well, it contains silicones which make it water resistant but safe to use dermatalogically speaking. use vasaline before going into the water, then shower afterwards. Don't get your face wet I know what you mean. lol. I get flakes and EVERYTHING, especially if I go swim outside because the sun dries it out even more! =/ Well, I would find a decent moisturizer to put on after swimming, and maybe get an exfoliater to do once a week to get rid of all the dead and flaky skin. The best moisturizers I have used were...Bio oil, Aveda, and Arbonne. But stuff like..cetaphil and olay work just as well. *good luck!* my face. =) I have the same problem. When i go swimming I always make sure that I take a mild soap (Dove works for me) and a tub of Nivea cream. Also, take a shower as soon as you get out of the pool. Hope it works for you too! I don't think there is anything you can do except stop swimming. |
