Where's some of the best? |
where's some of the best places to go scuba diving in UK.. ie wrecks, discoveries..? Depends on where you are and how far you want to travel I suppose. Scapa - Dive there while you still can, it wont be too long before the Health and Safety bods stops us hurting ourselves on rusty iron. Farne Isles - play with the seals. St Abbs - truly beautiful. Anglesey - So many wrecks, so little time Devon / Cornwall - again so many wrecks ... James Egan lane my personal favourite UK wreck dive. South coast - The Mulberry off Selsey is my favourite first dive of the season, easy and so many fish you would be forgiven for thinking you were somewhere a bit warmer. Kyara & M2 off Swanage... A small list but there are so many more sites to dive around the UK, I have just given you some of my favourites though. Cornwall............ my friend uses his dinghy....every year.... i was about to look into this myself, but you really need to be joining a club. they'll have the locations and guides for this. http://www.ukdivers.com/ blue lagoon horse shoe pass near llangollen Go to Shetland. Hundreds of wrecks and great diving: some easy, some challenging. Orkney also has some good diving, as do the Hebrides. NOW YOUR TALKIN, I USED TO GO DIVING WITH MY FARTHER, AND WE ALWAYS USED TO GO OFF THE ISLE OF ANGALSEY IN NORTH WALES, THERE ARE PLENTY OF WREKS OUT THERE AND ANOTHER ONE WHERE WE ACTUALLY FOUND GOLD NUGGETS WAS OFF THE ISLES OF SCILLY, JUST OFF LANDS END BUT IT IS CLOSER TO FRANCE OUTSIDE THE ENGLISH CHANNEL. Some people have already mention some of the best places around the British Isles - Anglesey / Farne Islands. In addition to the ones already mention, perhaps try the Sound of Mull - slightly further up then Oban. These tend to be all boat dives and if you get a good skipper, he'll know the best places to go. Some of the best dives I've had, The John Preston Wall, is truly something else, but it also has some spectacular wrecks - The Rhondo / SS Thesis / Hispania. |
